This page lists the main changes to pPlace. It is not an editorial blog: we only note here what directly affects people using the service — new tools, fixes, security, and policy changes.
New tool: reference image
We added a visual tool to overlay a local image on top of the canvas, with adjustable opacity, pixelation aligned to the grid, snap on move, and transparent pixel borders to compare with what was already painted. Available to signed-in users, next to the opacity control. The image stays only in your browser — nothing is sent to the server.

Side spaces review
We reviewed the side spaces of the canvas to prioritize user experience and privacy. These spaces remain reserved while we evaluate sponsorship formats compatible with the project's tone. Privacy details are in the privacy policy.
Privacy UX
Level system
We implemented level progression: each painted pixel and each action contributes to leveling up and unlocking higher daily limits. The calculation follows a progressive curve, and the ring around the avatar shows the current progress.
